- Recruitment to Group B and Group C posts in central government ministries and departments (assistant posts, inspectors, auditors, clerical and executive grades).
- Eligibility
- Bachelor's degree from a recognised university. Some posts have specific subject or skill requirements notified separately.
- Age limits

- Attempt limits

- Stages
- Tier I (objective) → Tier II (objective, multiple papers) → Skill/typing test or document verification where applicable
- Pattern
- Computer-based objective tests with negative marking; Tier II includes modules on quantitative ability, reasoning, English, computer knowledge and (for some posts) statistics.
- Subjects
- General intelligence and reasoning, General awareness, Quantitative aptitude, English comprehension, Computer knowledge module
- Total marks
- Tier I: 200 marks (as per recent patterns); Tier II pattern varies by post
- Duration
- Tier I: 60 minutes in recent cycles
- Interview / personality test
- Generally no interview for most posts in recent cycles.
- Physical test
