National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination

- Entry to the National Defence Academy (Army, Navy, Air Force wings) and the Naval Academy (10+2 entry).
- Eligibility
- Class 12 pass/appearing. Science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) is required for the Air Force and Navy wings; Mathematics is required for the Army wing's written paper eligibility as notified.
- Age limits
- Unmarried candidates within an announced age band (roughly 16.5–19.5 years at the time of joining) — verify the current notification.(may change — verify at the official source)
- Attempt limits
- No formal attempt limit, but the narrow age band caps attempts in practice.(may change — verify at the official source)
- Stages
- Written examination → SSB interview (5 days) → Medical examination → Final merit list
- Pattern
- Written: Mathematics and General Ability Test (English, physics, chemistry, general science, history, geography, current events). Then the Services Selection Board assessment.

- Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry, General science, History, Geography, Current events
- Total marks
- 900 marks written (Mathematics 300, GAT 600) in the long-standing scheme
- Duration
- Two papers of 2.5 hours each
- Interview / personality test
- Yes — the SSB interview: screening, psychology tests, group tasks and personal interview.
- Physical test
- Physical fitness assessed within the SSB and at training entry.
